Terms & conditions

Last updated 2026-08-28.

Template — review before relying on it. These terms are a starting point drafted around UK consumer law. Complete every [bracketed] item and have them checked by a solicitor before you trade.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Nexus PCBuilds Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales under number 00000000, with its registered office at Merseyway, Stockport SK1 1PD, Greater Manchester. We trade as Nexus PCBuilds. You can contact us at hello@nexuspcbuilds.co.uk or +44 161 000 0000.

2. These terms

These terms apply to every order you place with us through this website. By placing an order you confirm that you accept them and that you are at least 18 years old. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force is the one published here when you order.

3. Placing an order

  • Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email.
  • We may decline or cancel an order (for example if an item or component is unavailable, a price was clearly wrong, or we cannot verify payment). If we do, we refund any payment taken in full.
  • For custom ("Forge") builds, the specification shown in your confirmation is what we will build. Tell us within 24 hours if anything is wrong.

4. Price and payment

  • Prices are shown in your selected display currency and exclude VAT (we are not currently VAT-registered).
  • Prices can change, but changes do not affect an order we have already confirmed.
  • Delivery is charged as shown at checkout. Local collection from [collection address / by appointment] is free.
  • We accept [payment methods — e.g. card via Stripe, bank transfer]. For bank transfer, your build is scheduled once cleared funds are received, using the payment reference we give you.

5. Building and delivery times

Typical build and dispatch time for a custom PC is [X–Y working days] after payment clears; catalogue machines and parts usually ship within [N working days]. These are estimates, not guarantees. If we expect a significant delay we will contact you, and you may cancel for a full refund of anything not yet dispatched.

Every custom build is assembled, cable-managed and stress-tested for 48 hours before it leaves us. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery or collection; ownership passes once we have received payment in full.

6. Your right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

If you are a consumer buying at a distance you generally have 14 days from the day you receive the goods to change your mind and cancel, without giving a reason. To cancel, email hello@nexuspcbuilds.co.uk with your order reference before the 14 days expire. You then have 14 days to return the goods; you pay the return postage. We refund within 14 days of getting the goods back (or proof of return), and we may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value from handling beyond what is needed to inspect the goods.

Exception for bespoke builds. A custom PC configured to your own specification is "made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised". Once we have started assembling it, the statutory right to cancel under regulation 28(1)(b) no longer applies. Standard catalogue PCs and parts in unopened, resalable condition are not affected by this exception. Your rights if goods are faulty (section 8) always apply.

7. Cancellation or changes by you before we build

If you contact us before assembly begins we will normally let you amend or cancel a custom order and refund you, less any non-returnable components already bought in for your specific build (we will tell you if this applies).

8. Faulty goods and warranty

  • Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
  • Custom builds carry our [X]-year workmanship warranty (labour and assembly). Individual components carry their manufacturer's warranty, which we will help you claim. Standalone parts bought on their own carry the manufacturer's warranty only.
  • The warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, unauthorised modification, or normal wear (for example fan bearings or thermal-paste refresh after [period]).
  • If something fails, contact us first. We will diagnose remotely where possible and arrange repair, replacement or (where appropriate) collect-and-return at our cost within the workmanship-warranty period.

9. Software and operating system

Where you choose a Windows licence we supply it activated and legitimate. Your use of the operating system and any bundled software is subject to the relevant vendor's own licence terms.

10. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Otherwise we are not liable for loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or unforeseeable loss, and our total liability for an order is limited to the price paid for it. We strongly recommend you keep your own backups; we are not responsible for data on any drive sent to us.

11. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including supplier failure, shortages, carrier disruption or extreme weather). We will let you know and, if the delay is substantial, you may cancel for a refund of anything not dispatched.

12. Your data

We handle your personal data as set out in our privacy & cookies policy.

13. Complaints and governing law

Please raise any complaint with us first at hello@nexuspcbuilds.co.uk; we aim to acknowledge within [N] working days. These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales and the courts of England & Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your local courts. You can also use the [Online Dispute Resolution platform / an ADR provider — name it].
